Williams delivered an address, in the course of which he stated that returns would give 7121 members, with 507 on trial, 18,250 Sunday scholars, 47,999 attendants on public worship. The Maori returns are not complete, but there is a net gain of 59 members, with 807 on trial.

The Rev. W. J. Watkin, of Wanganui, was elected President, and Mr Nicoll Secretary, with Messrs Martin and ____ck as assistants.

The new President, in taking the chair, said he was a patriarchal Methodist of this part, as he came out with his father to Waikouaiti in 1840.

A motion was passed congratulating Rev. John Aldred on his attending his ministerial jubilee. A cordial welcome was extended to Mr and Mrs Morley.
