HOKITIKA, January 20. A miner named Frederick Bingham was killed by foul air in a shaft at Hau-Hau, yesterday afternoon. A neighbour's cowhad fallen down and he went to try and get it out, having his fo>t in a sling. Before reaching the bottom he fainted and fell. The body was recovered last night, another man well secured going down. The air was so bad that a candle would not burn four feet below the surface.
