Larceny. — R. H. Tendall (12) wa» charged with having stolen a watch valued at £o, the property of Henry Charles Pearce. It appeared that on January 14th the prosecutor was working at the building of a house ia Kilmore street. Prosecutor kept his watch in the pocket of his vest, which he hang up in a room in the building. On knocking off work he found that his watch was gone. The watch was afterwards seen in prisoner's possession, and on hie father taxing him with having taken it he first denied it, but afterwards produced it from some place where he had hidden it. The boy now said that he did not intend to steal the watch. He took it out of the pocket to look at the time, and the owner coming up just then he was afraid to put it back. Inspector Pender said the boy had been previously convicted of stealing a canary. In answer to the Bench, the prisoner's father, who was in Court, said he had seven other children, and could not afford to pay for his maintenance if sent to Burnham. Mr Westenra said the Bench did not wish to send so young a boy to gaol, and would let the case stand over till Friday for the consideration of the Resident Magistrate. Remanded accordingly. Trade Marks.—George Collier was charged that he, unlawfully, and with intend to defraud, did cause a certain article, to wit, a fluid substance called raspberryade, to be enclosed in a bottle bearing thereon the trade mark of Henry Mace. Mr Joynt appeared for plaintiff. Defendant stated that he had not received the summons before the afternoon of the previous day, and asked for an adjournment, which was granted till January 31st.
