The visitors will be captained by Mir Tugthall, and have among their ranks some old players of note, viz., Mr Sharp, late of Cambridge University and South of England teams, and Mr McKTerrow; of the Cheshire county team. The Canterbury team is captained by Mr Pearson, of the Victoria University, championship of England and North of England team, who has coached the Club from, its commencement. Another old and sterling player in the Club is Mr Buchan, of Toronto, Canada. The Canterbury Lacrosse Club has worked hard, and deserves great credit for the amount of proficiency shown, notably by such players as Wood, Harman, Cooke, Blakiston. and others, and although the Otago team have been playing three seasons, a very fast and close game is anticipated. A large number of spectators to see the first match between the provinces is expected, for whom the Lancaster Park Committee are doing all in their power to make things as attractive and comfortable as possible.
