[rasss association tk_eorab_] WELLINGTON, October 4. Lieutenant Douglas, of tho New Zealand Militia, has been appointed Major, to be staff officer of Artillery and inspector of ordnance stores and equipments. The commission of Lieutenant Reid, Newton (Auckland) Rifles, has been cancelled, in consequence of his absence from the colony without leave. Captain Prondfoot, of Dunedin, has been appointed a member of the local Board for examination of candidates for commissions in the New Zealand Militia and Vobanteers.
