AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the delegates of the NewZealand Amateur Athletic Association was held at Warner's Hotel, on Saturday evening. Mr F. Wilding occupied the chair. The delegates present were Messrs F. Wilding and L. A. Cuff (C.A.A.C.), A. E. G. Rhodes, .7. Grierson. E. V. Hamilton (South Canterbury), J. Dick, and W. F. Meers (Southland), E. P; Bunuy (Hawfce's Bay). '' " •-<■■- ...... The Secretary read a letter from Mr Tescheuiaker, acknowledging his election as President, and approving of the motion of which Mr Hamilton had given notice. Mr Hamilton then moved his motion, which was " That the following words be added to rule 12, * but the Association, however, does not refuse to entertain applications for reinstatement as amateurs, the Association to decide each case on its merits.' " Mr Cufjf seconded the motion, which was discussed, after which Mr Hamilton said that if the suggestion was likely to cause a split amongst :he affiliated Clubs, he would far rather see the matter postponed until he could forward to each of the other Clubs a cir:ular explaining his views. Mr Meers approved of the postponement, as he was desirous that all the tfnliated Clubs should fully instruct their lelegates. He observed that the New Zealand Cyclist Alliance contemplated in:roducing such a motion into its rules. Etc moved—" That the consideration of ;he matter be postponed until September !lst, in order to give all the Clubs an )pportunity of discussing the motion." This was seconded by Mr Rhodes, and :arried, aud the meeting adjourned.
