PRIZE DISTRIBUTION AT RICHMOND SCHOOL.

4» The distribution of prizes to the children attending the Richmond district school took place last night, at the local I Foresters' Hall. Mr E. L. Wallace, Chairman of the School Committee, preside!. The hall was packed with the children and their parents and friends. About a fort- ! night ago the school was examined for the f first time for prizes by Mr Baldwin, Head i Master at Sydenham, and the prizes given were subscribed for by the members of the Committee and others. After a few remarks by Mr Wallace and Mr Swan, these two gentlemen divided the work of ds"- is--bution. A silver Maltese cross, presented by Messrs Barnes and C. H. Howard, and inscribed by Mr A. W. Jones, was awarded to Emily Osborne, dux of the school. A special prize for geograpii., given. »yMr 1 eTw. Hall, was gained by Elizabeth | Bampton.
