I ■ c WELLINGTON KACING CLUB. [PBJ-SS ASSOCIATION TSLEQ&A—] WELLINGTON, August 31. The annual report of the Wellington Racing Club shows a profit of £261, thus reducing the liabilities to £270. The club have secured a lease of the Island Bay racecourse for twelve months, but the race meetings will, as hitherto, be held at the Hutt, Island Bay being retained for training purposes. At the annual meeting of the Club this evening the report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers was deferred for a fortnight, as it was thought many members who had declined to take an active part in the management while two clubs were in existence, wiil now offer themselves for election as Stewards. Mr A. Young, who for the past fifteen years has taken a prominent position in the Club, and recently handed the starter's nag to Mr N. Grace, was accorded a special vote of thanks for his past services. The Incoming Stewards will arrange next season's programme.
