OPENING OF THE MAGDALA ASYLUM.
To-morrow the feast of St. Mary Magdalen has been chosen for the formal opening of the Magdalen Asylum at Mount Magdala. His Lordship Bishop Grimes will perform the ceremony, which commences at 2 p.m. with an opening prayer in the chapel connected ■with the institution. Hia Lordship will then pass on thrqujzb. the different rooms in the building, and as the procession marches, the choirs, composed of the penitents, or " children " of the House and members o£ the choir of the pro-cathedral, Barbadoes street, will siny the Psalms " Miserere " and •' Aye Maria Steiia," and the canticle "Magnificat," &c. After blessing the interior of the Asylum his Lordship will enter the court at the rear of the building by the northern door, and alter making the circuit of it, will proceed by the western door, through the lawn before the main entrance, to the eastern face of the building, when his Lordship vyill address the assemblage. Before dispersing an opportunity will be allowed visitors to show practical sympathy with the movement by giving donations in aid of the furtherance of the objects in view. For the convenience of those who wish to attend the ceremony, trams will run from Cathedral square at 12.15 and 12.45 p.m., and return from the Show ground terminus at 4.45 aud 5.15 p.m. Conveyances ■will also start from the square and White's corner, Tuam street, at 1 p.m., for Mount Magdala, and return at 4 p.m., at which time it is expected the ceremony will be over.
