FORGERIES BY A STOCKBROKER.
[PER fRESS ASSOCIATION.} Received July 19th. 8 p.m. Stdney, July 19. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jackson, a well-known stockbroker of Newcastle, on a charge of extensive forgery of bills to the amount of several thousand pounds. It is stated that Jackson had large betting transactions with Holt, the ex-banker, and being hard pressed by the latter for payment, forged the bills in order to stave off the crash which would have followed his being posted as a defaulter. Jackson is supposed to have gone to Manilla, the capital of the Spanish settlement iv the Philippine Islands,
