TESTING THE FLEET. J[PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Received July 18th, 11.20 p.m. London, July 9. With five days' notice thirty-eight men-of-war assembled at Spithead and thirty-one off Portland ready for active service, Admirals Baird and Rowley being in command. A stronger squadron will endeavor to blockade a fleet under Admiral Tryon and Captain Fitzßoy, after the conclusion of the celebration in connection with the tercentenary of the Spanish Armada on the 19th inst.
