OXFORD.
The ordinary meeting of the Board w-as held on Friday. Present—Messrs Parlane (Chairman), Fisher, Ryde, and Wotherspoon. Mr Bennett waited upon the Board asking for repairs to the Boundary road, and that a part of Steffen's road North should be shingled. It was decided the Boundary road be repaired, aud a report made on Steffen's road. Mr McClinton askeel that the ditch on Starvation road be cleared out. Clerk to report. Correspondence was received—From MrGresson reFinlay's case. From the Secretary to the Treasury, stating it was the Intention of the Government to discontinue payments on Crown and Native lands after 1888. From Mr James Wright, about damage by storm water. It.was decided .the Board meet and exaniihe into his complaint on Tuesday next at 2 p.m. From Mr A. Stubbs, asking for permission to erect a gate on Sole's road. Granted. It was resolved that the embankment on the water-race between Messrs Skurr and Cowan's be removed, and. that a foot pipe be put in .. at the high places iv Mr Skurr's upper and lower paddocks. The Clerk was instructed to ask Mr Maddison to have the roads on Messrs Mellish and Brown's sections conveyed to the Board, and the'work Nvould then be put in hand. Resolved, that the dog fees be the same as-last year, viz., 10s. Mr Dean to be communicated with re giving guarantee to keep the fence on Crallan's drain when e-ompleted. Mr Conden was given leave to make a drinking place on No. 1 race. Accounts were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
