PROPOSED VISIT OF ENGLISH FOOTBALLERS.

Received January Uth, 1.15 cm. __lboubne, January 14. The Victorian Football Association, by a majority of three, refused Lillywhite's terms in connection with the proposed visit of the English Football Team. A number of Clubs are favorable to the proposal. Received January 15th, C p.m. Sydney, January li. Despite the opposition of the Victorian Football Association it is Lillywhite's intention to bring out a team of English footballers, who will play club matches there if unable to arrange for a combined team. The team will visit New Zealand at the commencement of the winter, and will pay another visit to that colony towards the end of the winter months. Lillywhite and Shrewsbury will not aocompany the team to Now Zealand, and they both complain that the terms offered by the cricketers aud footballers were not sufficient to make the trip a remunerative one.
