m " ■ SPEECHES BY LORD HARTINGTON AND MR GOSCHEN. [reutei-'s tj_i__gi___i.l Received December Ist, L3O p.m. Lo_don, November 30. A great Unionist demonstration toolplace in Dublin to-day. The gathering comprised the leading representatives of the commercial and industrial interests, the professions being also well represented. The principalspeakers were the Marquis of Hartington, and Mr Goschen, Chancellor of the Exchequer, both of whom declared that the meeting then assembled proved, though numerically in a minority, they were a power whereon the greatness and prosperity of Ireland depended. Both gentlemen in vigorous terms opposed the granting of Home Rule. The greatest enthusiasm prevailed throughout the meeting. [BPBCI__- TO PRESS ASSOCIATION.! Received December Ist, 10.30 p.m. London, November 30. Lord Hartington, speaking at Dublin, said that tbe legitimate national aspiration of Ireland might be satisfied like Scotland under Imperial Parliament and Government. • Mr Gosdhen said that a bastard nationalism would only produce unendurable* friction betwefen Gveat Britain and Ireland.
