COURTENAY.

A meeting of this Board was held on Monday, November 7th inst. Present — Messrs T. H. Anson (Chairman), J. Gough, A. McNae, J. Dysart, and C. Rudd. Tenders for the works advertised were opened and those of C. McCausland, W. Welburne, J. Gibson, P. Honeybone, J. Hughes, and S. E. Anderson were accepted. Correspondence was read—From the manager of Bangor Estate, forwarding claim for part fencing of res. 1523. From B. F. Wade, applying for a lease of gravel reserve 1522. Granted on the usual conditions. From A. Paterson, requesting permission to plough the unformed portion of road adjoining his land for the destruction of gorse. Granted. From T. W. Adams, asking that the name of R. Locker may be substituted in lieu of his on rate roll as the occupier of R.S. 9122 and 9123. Granted. From J. A. Wilson, applying for leave to put down open crossing for waterrace water across the Kirwee road. Leave given, provided the -work be done in accordance with theßoard's specification forsame. Petition was read from H. Feutz and others re diverting storm water from its natural channel through their lands, and causing some' to flow down through Kirwee road into the Waimakariri riverbed, and the surveyor was instructed to inspect and report upon the probable cost of the work. The report oi the Sarveyor was read and adopted. Resolved that a rate of one-eighth of a penny in the £on the rateabieproperty in the district be made and levied for the year ending March 31st, 1888, such rate to be due and payable at the office of the Board on January 2nd, 1888. Accounts amounting to £136 7s 8d were adopted and passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
