ORANGE MEETINGS.
The members of No. 2 and 3 held a social gathering in the Orange Hall, Worcester street, on Saturday evening; Bro. W. White, District Master (Elect), in the chair, supported by P.G. Masters Bros. Christie and Prudhoe, and D. Masters C. McFad.den, Bro. Penfold, W.M., of No. 2, in the ' vice-chair. On Sunday the members hdd„ chgrch parade. They formed at tho OhingiS Hall/and marched to the Prl-piti*-**-; Methodist Church, where the service was conducted } by the Rev. W. P. Jones. There were I about seventy brethren present. The pro-1 cession was headed by the Sydenham Rand. The members of the Loyal Orange Lodge,' Star of Ellesmere, No. 22, celebrated their sixth anniversary on Friday evening by a tea-meeting and social gathering, held in the Leeston Town HalL There was a very good attendance present. The tables were : gaily decorated, and were ably attended . to by Mrs Deal, assisted by the Misses '. Blaekler (2), Ewensen, Lisk, Deal, and : Carston. After the tables had been c'eared : away, the chair was taken by Mr Houston. 1 Addresses were also given by the W.M., 1 Mr W. Pentlow, and the Revs. J. W. Cree I and W. West The Lodge is steadily im- j proving, and are the possessors of a large j
and comfortable hall. A vote of thanks was passed to the speakers and ladies, being proposed by Mr G. McClure, and seconded by Mr -S. Wickliffe. The entertainment was concluded with a dance. On Friday night the members of tne Orange Lodge. No. 7, at Annat, held their annua, celebration, taking this shape of a concert and ball.
