There were mostly local competitors at the Show, which was held in—ieG—Tieoa Hall, found very suitable for auch aa exhibition. The annual cricket match between Timaru aad Christ's College wat played here to-day, aai resulted in a win f-r Timaru by three wickets. There wat an excellent wicket, but the waather was unfavorable. H-avy showers of rain fell, and a strong nor'-wester blew across the pitch. During the afternoon Chri.t'b College want to the wieknts first, but owing to the spls-did bowling of Godby aad Bit-welt only totalled 86. Perry IS, Jameson 15, and Cotterill not out 15, were the highest scores. In their first _—tings Timaru ran up 110, of which Bothwell made 38, Bryars 33, and A. Godby 13. Perry wat the most sucoesef ol bowler, taking six wickets for 31. The visitors in the second innings were all disposed of for 57. of whioh Beeves made 13 and Williams 13.
