September 13 An old man named Michael Kin?, who was struck by a waggon while it was being "picked off" on a railway siding at Wynyard pier by an engine, died this eveningat the Hospital. He was taken before the
Magistrate there and remanded to Wellinaton. It is understood there are large defalcations.

Colonel Sir George Whitmore has left for New Plymouth, where he will meet the Hon. the Defence Miaister, and they will together selec; and nndeavor to arrange for the use of a site somewhere near Waitara far the next Easter Volunteer encampment. By holding the camp in this neighbourhood facilities will be afforded for naval as well ac land movements.

The Secretary cf the Cricket Association has received » latter asking what terms will be given to Shaw and dhrewsbury's team ot cricketers. The matter will be considered shortly.
