DISTRESSED ISLANDERS.
fFBiaS ABSOCIATTOW TH.W3BAM.] POET CHALMEBS, September IS,
The ship Westland, Captain Mc Williams, which arrived from London at 2 p.m. yesterday, passed the island of Tristan d'Acunha on July 31st. A boat came off to the ship, asking Ciptain McWilliams for medical comforts and provisions. They informed him that a boat's crew had left the island several months since, and had not returned, and were astonished when the captain told them the men had perished •ft the island. Several of the widows of the drowned men were approaching confinement, and Ciptain McWilliams generously sent them a supply of port wine, tea, arrowroot and medical comforts.
