Dr. Pollbw moved—" That oopies of the Inspectors' reports under the Employment of Females Act relative to the working of the Act be furnished. . Agreed to. mSCBLLANBOU*. The Harbor Act Amendment Bill was re* committed for the purpose of re-oonsider-ing clauses 12 and 18, which were agreed to- . The Bill was reported with amendments. The Wellington-Manawatu Consolidation Debenture* Bill was received from toe House. A message was received from the House stating thattbeamendmditS on the East and West Coast had been agreed to, as also ware tie amendments on , the Newmarket Reserves BilL The amendments made by the House in the- Defence Bill were ordered be taken into consideration next day. The Municipal Corporations Bill was further considered in Committee. Several amendments ef no vital or general importance were agreed to, and the Bill as amended was reported. The Gfsborne Prison* Bill was oommitted, reported without amendment read a third time, and passed. THB SHABBBBOKBBS BILL. On the motion for the oommittal of the Sharebrokers Bill, Mr Stbvbns, believing th* Bill wsuld prove unworkable, moved that it be read that day six months. Mr BovAB supported Mr Stevens* amendment, and stated he had r*t»iveei communications from several brokers in Auckland and Wellington protesting that the Bill would prove unworkable. Sir F. Wbttaxxb abo supported the amendmeat, and said in his opinion the Bill would, by its very straitaess, prove unworkable. He counselled the Government to abandon the Bill, with a view to remodelling it during the recess, and presenting it in a workabto form. The Council divided on the question " that tha words proposed to be omitted stand part of the Bill," with the following reault:—Ayes, 24; noes, 4. ' - The Bill was thrown out . local bodibs loanb.buju...' This Bill was further considered in Committee. On the motion of Sir F. Whctaksb, it was agreed to amend clause 66, so as to make it the duty of the auditor of the local district to institute the necessary proceedings •gainst every member of a local authority liable to pjy amy penalty imposed. . j ilia Bill waa reported with amendments. !"
