■ # ' A general meeting of the Council of this Association was held yesterday at the Bangiora Koad Board office. Twenty-fire members were present; MrP.C.Threlkeld, President, in the chair. The Secretary reported the sale of the show privileges at J834 10a. The entries this year, compared with last year, were :— 1883. 1884. Sheep 138 105 Cattle ... ~. ... 85 70 Horses 13G 172 Pigs » 37 88 Poultry ... ... 33 4S Doge ... , 19 17 Ferrets .. ... ... 6 5 Implements Sβ 27 Dairy produce ... 56 62 Local industries ... 4 14 Wool 0 2 Extra exhibits ~. 6 20 Totals ... ... 657 566 The list of judges who had accepted office wae then reported. The offer of the Bangiora brass band had been acceptedArrangements would be made for the trains to run at excursion fares. The Secretary reported tbat the subscriptions would for the most part come up to the estimate of last year. The o«o»<>tary'e action in writing a letter of condolence to Mrs J. McFarlane on the decease of Mr xA.varlane, who had been President of the Society i« r many years, was unanimously approved of. Mr WaiiEeb moved, Mr Conb seconded— " That each exhibitor of sheep be requested to find a man to turn up the same on the ground." Mr Dick moved, Mr Nicholls seconded, an amendment—" That the Association provide men to turn the sheep." The amendment was carried. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
