AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS.
Mas—ta Mxlbs and Co. report upon the loc—l markets for the week ending Friday, - December 28th, as follows :— Wool, Skins, Hides and Tallow—On . Thursday last we held our usual sale of skins, tallow, hides, Ac., but owing to the —elldays there was but a limited catalogue to offer, consisting principally of dry skins. The attendance was extremely limited, and prices were a shade below last week's quotations. Our prices were as follows :— Country crossbred, 3s, 4s, 4s sd, 4s 6d; do merino, Bs, 3a 6d; butchers' pelts, 6d to Is; lam us, Is. Rough fat we sold at up to 2|d perlb;—ies,3Jd,3fd. Grain and Produce—ln this class of produce there is very little to record, the holidays having to a very considerable extent interfered with business, and transactions have been limited. We quote wheat at from —19d to 4s, with a shade over for extra quality; there is, however, not much en<ti_y. In oats there is very little doing, and our last quotations remain unaltered, visC { at Is 6d to Is lid for feed, and 2s for nulling. In barley quotations are almost nominal, and but few lines are offering. jQxaas seed—Enquiries small, and prices _omin—; the growing crops of both cocksfoot and ryegrass are exceedingly pro—using, and neavy yields may be expected. J. D—try produce—We ;_aote at for cheese, 4£dtosd; butter, 6d; hams and bacon, 7d toßd. - At the Milton Yards, near Selwyn, on Friday, 21st inst., we held a most imports _tt and successful sale of sheep, the prices being extremely satisfactory. There was tits usual large attendance of buyers, and the demand being large we succeeded in placing every lot at satisfactory rates. We offered in all €02) sheep, and the principal sales effected were as foßows:—Hoggets, 521 at 9s sd, 588 at 103 6d, 118 at 14s 3d, 529 at 14s 3d; crossbred wethers, shorn, 133 at 14s, 526 at 14s 6d; merino .ewes and lambs, in wool, 440 at 10s 6dj shorn, 251 at 9a 6d, ll«at&?.
Land—During the week we have, in conjunction with Messrs R. Wilkin and Co., effected a sale of 965 acres of land, late the property of the Messrs Jackson Brothers, near Mite—am, on the Rakaia and Ashburton Forks Railway, at <£5 7a 6d per acre.
