LITTLE RIVER.
TO THB BDITOB OF THB' PBESS. Bib, —A lawmiller in thit district hat laid off and sold some land as a town-kip. So far co good. But what is really wanted here is a township that would be a centre for our three valleys—viz., the Port Lnvy, the Okute, and the one up which the main road runs to Akaroa. Well, the Maoris here possess the site that connects these three valleys, and are, I am given to understand, prepared to make an arrangement with the Government by
which the Peninsula could have a grand, wellwatered, and healthy town, not cooped up in any one valley, hat on an extensive flat. In the event of our obtaining the railway, the Okute junction and station will abut on the Maori land and the line run through the heart of it. Yours, &c., Pbosbess.
