LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Messrs Acland, Campbell and Co. report that, at their fortnightly sale on Thursday, ISih, at Ash. burton, entries comprised 800 to 900 sheep, 20 pigs, and 30 horses, nearly the whole being cleared at very satisfactory prices, considering the great doll, ness of the sale, arising from the small attendance and great scarcity of feed, for which reason all cattle entered with them were withheld. The following prices were realised: In sheep—Leicester ewes, mixed ages, 9s 9d; do., lambs, 8s 6d; merino ewes, 2s 2d to 3s 3d; fat cross-breds, 7s 6d to 7s 9d; and cross-bred lambs, to 6d to 7s ; part of a superior lot of 20 Lincoln and Leicester rams realised from 60s to 3 guineas. The horses comprised mostly hacks and light harness horses in very low condition, which were all cleared; good draughts brought from«4oto£lß. Messrs Clifford and Co. report on their usual weekly sale of Saturday, April 20th, as follows :— Milch Cows—A number yarded,, and all changed hands at £5 to £7; calves, young, 7b to 9s. Cattle market dull, owing to scarcity of feed. Pigs—This market is still languid, few pigs being yarded, and low prices ruling; small stores, 3s 6d; stores, 11s 6d. Holders of stock are careless about offering in the present state of the market. Prices must advance soon. Poultry—A large quantity of ponltry penned, realising very Rood prices. Fowls—Per pair, 2s [to Ss 9d; ducks, 4s to 4e 6d | geese, 6s; turkeys, 8e 6d to lls. Indoor sale of furniture, produce, 4c. f by Mr Hugh Bennetts. Good attendance at all the sales throughout the day.
