SALE OF LEASEHOLD PROPERTY.

Messrs Matson and Co., under instructions from F. Brittan, Esq., sold on Saturday the leases -of several small farms in rural sections 326 and 347, situated about a mile from the city. There was a good attendance of buyers, and for some of the farms the bidding was remarkably spirited. The leases expire on the 25th August, 1882, and possession is to be given on the 25th of this month. The rent is payable qnorterly. The conditions on which the land was sold did not prohibit continuous cropping. The following were the prices obtained: —Lot 1, a corner section opposite Linwood Hoase, 5a lip, £5 per acre, Augustus B. Pavitt; lot 2, 25a 33p. with cottage and stable upon it, £2 10s per acre, Thomas Mason; lot 3, 22a 3r 33p, having 16G3 links frontage to Slaughter-house road, £3 per acre, George Harris; lot 4, 31a 4p, with frontage to Slaughter-house road, £3 15s per acre, Fred. Vesey, who also took at the came price lot 5, 44a ; lot 6, 28a 34p, £2 10s per acre, Hopkins and Co. j lot 7, 23a lr 4p, £117s 6d per acre, Michael Flynn; lot 9,19 alr lp, £4 2s 6d per acre, Thomas Mason ; lot 9, 10a3r23p, £215s per acre, E. Percy, lot 10, 5a 31p, fronting Ollivier's road, £3 5s per acre, H. Tabling; lots 11,12 and 13, were not offered ; lot 14,20 a3r 25p, £3 2s 6d per acre, John Hbdges; lot 15, 26a, £3 per acre, John Murphy.
