THE POLITIOAIi OBISIS. DEATH OF EDWABD WILSON. Mklboc-KH, January 11. At a meeting of the Opposition members it was resolved, when Parliament meets on the sth of February, that they should express disapproval and condemnation of the action of the Government. The political atmosphere is quiet. January 12. There has been no fresh development of the political crisis. Mr Edward Wilson, of the "Argus," has died in London. Stdhe-, January 12. The Postmaster-Genera], replying to a deputation from the Chamber of Commerce, approved of the route of a duplicate cable from Western Australia to Singapore, and hinted at the desirability of obtaining assistance from other Colonial Governments.
The heat in the interior is intense. Several fatal sunstrokes have been reported. The salaries of the State schoolmasters have been increased.
