After another hour spent in running for nuts and lollies, provided by Mr Kissel, an entertainment commenced in aid of the library, to which the children were admitted free. The programme was opene-1 by Mr and Mrs Ffitch, piano and cornet, followed by 1 songs from Miss Mayo, Messrs Comerford, Hopkins, Hull, Sheepshanks, Anstin, Goodwin, and Gates, whose able accompaniments on the piano were much appreciated. Readings were given by Messrs Elwin and Long, and the Templeton choir also added to the evening's amusement, which wound up with dancing, all going home perfectly satisfied with their day's amusement.

The annual school treat and distribution of prizes came off on Thursday last, in the grounds adjoining the school. The weather was all that could be desired. About two o'clock the children began to muster, when foot racing, jumping, running in sacks, &c, were gone into for prizes purchased funds raised in the district. After about two hours spent in this way, the children mustered in front of the schoolroom and partook of the delicacies of the season, amply supplied by Mesdames Bailey, Barter, Benjamin, Jeffs, Jones, and Marsh.

The distribution of school prizes then took place, Mr Samuel Bailey, chairman Templeton School Committee, presenting each pupil with his award of merit, which were really a very superior lot of books. The following is the prize list:—

First Class—lst, George Bailey; 2nd, Herbert Mayo; 3rd, James Bailey; 4th, Henry Ranger ; 6th, Joseph Bailey.
