ROAD BOARDS.
• PIGEON BAY. A meeting was held on Saturday, December 7. All the members present, with the exception of Mr E. Goodwin. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Chairman of the school committee, offering the use of the library for the sum of £3 per year. The Board agreed to the offer provided they could use the school for elections, &c. A letter was received from Mr Britmayer, requesting to be paid £27 10s balance of account of contract. The Board stated it as their opinion that they had paid him what was due. A letter was received from Mr Hunt, requesting that some repairs be done to his road. The Clerk was instructed to write to him, asking him what he wanted doing. The Chairman reported that Mr Prender had just finished the rock blasting, and with the concurrence of Messrs Gillespie and Goodwin he had settled with him, which the Board approved of. It was agreed that the election of five members for the Board take place on the 4th day of January, at noon, and if a poll is demanded, it to be on the same day. The Board agreed to hold a special meeting on the last Saturday in December to audit the balance-sheet and other necessary business. Several accounts were ordered to be paid and the Board then adjourned.
