SOUTHBRIDGE HOTEL ACCOMMODATION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —Will you a 1 low mc the use of your columns to make a few remarks respecting a wine and beer license at Southbridge. At the present time there is one good hotel in the township well conducted, and providing ample accommodation for the public. It is a well known fact that in the busy seasons many of the out comers who visit us for employment are not at all times most peaceably disposed, and that they require a deal of management to keep them in order. Now, should this license be granted it will be affording greater facilities for drinking, and be a source of annoyance to the inhabitants generally. I am Ware a numerously-signed requisition has been presented in favor of the application, but at least three-fourths of the persons whose names appear there are not interested in any way, as they neither reside in the township or immediate neighborhood. I trust our local J.P.s will do their utmost to oppose the granting of this license, thereby putting a stop to what will be both an annoyance to themselves aud to the public generally. Yours, &c, Resident. Southbridge, May 11, 1572.
