The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Wheeler, arrived in harbor yesterday, at 11.30 a.m., from Dunedin. She cleared Port Chalmers Heads at 2.30 a.m. on Thursday, and had fine weather during the passage. The Taranaki Bails for "Wellington this afternoon. The three-masted schooner, Captain Griffith, left Pieton at 6 p.m. on the 15th instant, bad strong northerly winds, and at 10 p.m. passed Cape Campbell; at 8 a.m. on the 16th was off the Kaikoras, had calms and variable winds until 8 p.m., when a nor'-east breeze sprang up, and continued until arrival; passed the Elizabeth Curie and other crafts bound for port. She brings a cargo of timber. The schooner Elizabeth Curie and Spray arrived in harbor yesterday afternoon from Hokitika. The schooner Wanderer and Ocean Bird arrived in harbor yesterday, from Pieton, with cargoes of timber. They left Pieton on Sunday last, had fine weather during the passage. * The s.s.
