KAIAPOI.
Tuesday. April 25. [Before G. L. Meliish, Esq., R.M., aud C. Dudley, Esq., J.P.] Furious Driving. — William Manson. charged with driving a four-horse brewery waggon at a furious rate over the Kaiapoi swing-bridge on a recent date, admitted the offence, and was fined 10s and costs. Civil Cases.—The defendants in tbe following two cases appeared to show cause why judgment should not be enforced against them. In the case of J. S. "White v. James Smith, defendant gave proof that he had filed his petition in bankruptcy on the l-ith instant, whereas judgment was only given against him in this Court on the IStb. In order made, in the case of Hansen v. Hill, defendant was ordered to satisfy the claim in a week, or in default five weeks' imprisonment. Slauhtering Licenses.—The application of R. R. Hicks and G. Ivinley for slaughtering licenses, were granted.
