BS PBACTITIONEBS ACT, AND EE JOHN M'GEEGOB. la this case a rule had been obtained calling upon John M'Gregor to show cause ?hj he should not be attached for contempt & practising as a solicitor, he not being duly enrolled. The alleged contempt consisted in «c preparation of certain papers in bankruptcy for which he had received payment. Cause had been shown on a former day, and ■Of Foster was now heard on the points whether the preparation of a petition in bankruptcy by a party, the petition being filed in the Court by the petitioner and not b y;the party preparing it, constituted an acting as a solicitor. The learned Doctor contended that drawing a petition in bankruptcy did constitute acting as a solicitor just *-c same as the preparation of various oocuments in suits, and doing other acts, the charges for which were liable to be taxed, »?t which were, as it were, outside the Court, &d constitute acting as a solicitor. He oited numerous authorities in support. Mr M'Gregor, who was present, said that *W did not wish to say anything further. *»jj» Honor took time to consider. *oe Court then rose.
