The New Zealand Steam Navigation Company's steamship Taranaki, Captain arrived in harbour at teja a.m.; yeeter-; day, the 9th. instant. She left the Manukau 1 on the 3rd. at two p.m., and arrived at Taranaki on the 4th at six a.m.; left on the * came day at five p.m., and arrived at Nelson on'the sth at eleven a.m.; left Nelson on the 6th at nine p.m., and arrived in Picton on the 7th at seven a.m. ; left on the same day at nine a.m., end arrived in Wellington mt two p.m. same day ; left Wellington at three p.m. on the Bth, and arrived fca aooVe, having ex- j perienced moderately fine , weather. ' The schooner "William and Mary, Captain arrived in harbour from the Fijis yesterday at three a.m., having sailed from Kewa River on November 14, and experienced light northerly winds with heavy rain for the .'first part of the passage", and strong S.S.E. .gales after making the coast of New Zealand. ' The .William and Mary brings a cargo of "'cotton, oil, and some splendid fruit as cargo; also a large live measuring 4ft. 2Jin. in length, and 2ft. lOin. from fin to fin in breadth. The latter has been purchased by Mr Nurae, -of the C.E.C. dining-rooms, Lyttelton, whose intention it is we believe to exhibit it. The schooner Breeze, Captain Pearce, arrived from Buller Biver, after experiencing a fine run to Peloruß Sound (twenty-four hours), I She left Pelorus Sound on the sth instant, and arrived here on the 9th, having met with light hauling winds. The 8.8. Wainui, Captain Hepburn, sailed yesterday for Dunedin via intermediate ports witha large cargo and a number of paseengere. The brig Fawn was towed from her moorings yesterday morning for the purpose of being moOred by the side of the Kailway •wharf, but owing to the shallowness of the water could not get alongside the wharf. The Sea Flower left the Grey on the 30th ultimo, and after a fine run of six days, inclusive of two days becalmed off the Kaikouras, arrived off £aiapoi on Saturday last. The captain reports having sighted the Wild Wave on Tuesday last off the ELaikouras.
