UNDER and in Pursuance of the Powers vested in mc as the Commissioner appointed by his Excellency the Governor to carry out the regulations for the sale of lands taken for settlement under " The New Zealand Settlements Act, 1863," in the Province of Auckland, I, Frederick Whitaker do hereby notify that the lands specified in the Schedule hereunder written, will be open for selection and sale as General Rural Land, in accordance with the said regulations, 8t the Waste Lands Office at Auckland, at noon on Tuesday, the 12th day of March, 1867. Waikato, Lower District, J , The lands open for selection at a fixed price under the above notice are divided into three classes, according to relative value, viz.— 43,000 acres of Ist class, at 15s per acre 216,000 acres of 2nd class, at 10s per acre 324,000 acres (inclusive of 153,000 acres of Bwamps) of 3rd class, at 5s per acre. Applications may be made in writing at any time before twelve o'clock on Tuesday, the "2th March, 1867. Any number of acres may be selected; not less than forty. The first applicant will be deemed the purchaser. If two or more persons apply for the same land at the same time, it will be put up to auction at the price fixed for selection. Deposits will be returned to the unsuccessful applicants. All land not applied for on the 12th of March will be open for selection on any subsequent day. The purchase-money must be paid as follows :— * Deposit with application, 20 per cent. Within three months from day of sale, 20 per cent. Within six months from day of sale, 20 per cent. Within nine months from day of sale, 20 per cent. Within twelve months from day of sale, 20 per cent.
