RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Chbistchubch—January 8. [Before C. C. Bowes, Esq., R.M.] A case against Johc Farr, for obtaining money under false pretences, was dismissed with a caution. Margaret Bowen, of painful notoriety, was fined £3, or ninety-six hours* imprisonment, for disorderly conduct in Gloucester street, on Saturday evening, after the theatre. Tlie prisoner did not pay the five, but was locked up. The Government have to provide for four of her children during her incarceration. Alexander Gordon was ordered to find sureties to keep the peace for twelve months ; his own recognisance in £100, and one surety in £50, to keep the peace towards bis wife and others. There are upwards of 140 civil cases of debt set down for hearing to-day.
