The barque Bote, 294 tons, Captain Alexander Stephen, from London, arrived in our harbour yesterday morning, having been signalled the previous day. The Bose left the Downs on 17th January, and experienced very changeable and unsettled weather aB the way out. The passage from England to the equator was long in consequence, and thence she had fight and variable weather, with a succession of heavy galea from the Cape all the way to New Zealand. On Saturday afternoon, 6th instant, experienced a severe hurricane blowing from SE., and veering thence to S.W. and back again. This was in latitude 46 deg. S, and in long. 166 deg. E. It lasted fully four hours, and was very strong all the time. Sighted New Zealand on Monday last, the Bth instant; was signalled from our look-out station here on .Tuesday, and anchored early yesterday, making the passage in IBS days from the Downs. The Bose brings a general cargo, consigned as per the account given in our imports. She had no passengers on board.— Colonist, May 12.
