CHRISTCHURCH HORSE MARKET. Mr. W. D. Barnard reports a large attendance at his sale on Saturday last. Ninety-six horses were entered for sale, and the few alterations that have occurred in prices have been in favor of buyers. The class of horses chiefly on hand are medium draught stock, ex late arrivals. There are very few useful hacks offering, and no one seems to import them, which is perhaps owing to a better market in the other colonies. There is, however, a great demand here for this class of horses, which would find ready purchasers at high rates. The sales effected on Saturday were chiefly confined to country buyers, and a good business was done. The quotations were as follows : —First-class heavy draught stock, none offering; medium do mares and geldings, suitable for farm purposes, from ' £40 to £65 ; inferior do, from £20 to £30 ; firstclas3 hacks and light harness horses, none offering ; medium do, from £25 to £35 ; inferior hacks, from £10 to £18. The sale at the Agricultural Yards this day (Wednesday) of a draft of 25 unbroken colts anil fillies, the property of J. C. Wilson, Esq., C.8., was very well attended by the trade. The prices ranged from £15 to £27, averaging £18 103 per head.
