Tliey comprised 10040 Australian. and ljueensiand ; 11.4U7' Victorian; 11*276 South Australian; «.'!». Tasinuutau ; 176S New Zealand; ltv9sS Cape of Good Hope.—Total, 53,092ba1e5. The rrsnlt of tlie ni'W wool, by ri'fCKt arrivals from Victoria, and South Astralia which, however, is unusually limited in quantity cannot hut be satisfactory to shippers ; and we are Rind to add thai in healthy urowth, sound staple and condition, it bears favorable comparison with ln«t ve;ir. The small quantity, and sroneral Miperior character have led to a very active competition, aud enable i:s to <|uott- an advance of fully id o:i the average rales of Noveml'Cf, Stout longeombhur wool has brought very hfcrh rntes. A lar«c proportion Of the wool from New Sonfh Males was scoured; this, as well as the iicw parcels of eood Heece ■wool, has oxperieneed an improvement ia nearly equal i"he quantity from Xpw Zealand and Tasmania was trifling, affording no criterion; but there is a goud prospect for the first arrivals, as stock is exhausted.
Second-hand wools have been viewed with disfavor, and have not brought satisfactory pritvs. Notwithstanding the large supply which has arrived for the next public we are induced, by the condition of the woollen trade anil of {he country gviterally, as well as by a good home and foreign demand, to hope for a satisfactory market.
