WE, the undersigned, hereby give notice that, in consequence of the constant tax upon our liberality in providing food and shelter for the MANY NEEDY TRAVELLERS, and the very frequent acts of petty swindling practised upon us by unprincipled men, who come and call for what they want and then make off without paying. This is to give notice that, after this date, we will not find food and shelter for travellers, unless the same is PAID FOR OVER NIGHT. We do this in self-defence, in consequence of the high price of meat, &c. : as it is impossible to stand the constant drain upon our resources, and the frequent acts of imjwsture that take place make the tax all the worse to bear.
