In so doing 1 wish to state that I come forward with the view of supporting every movement which will advance the general interests of the province, and those of the tradesmen of Christchureh in particular, which lwxly I consider has not hitherto been fairly represented. If elected, I should feel it my duty to vote for liberal supplies to be given to the Municipal Council for the purpose of carrying on the drainage, street making, and other improvements of the c;ty. I should also vote for the education grant to be equally divided among all denominations, according to the numbers taught. 1 will likewise support every motion which will favor the extension of the railway, and the development of the the minerals of the province I am obliged to those electors who favoured mc with their votes at the late- election of the Municipal Council, and hope again to receive their support.
