St. John Ambulance Division, Annual Inspection Held

The annual inspection of the Whakatane St. John Ambulance Division was held on Saturday by the Commissioner of the South Auckland Districts, Mr H. O. Cobb, and Officer in Charge of the Nursing Divisions, Mrs Cobb. In the afternoon they inspected a parade of 70 boys and girls. After this ceremony, the Cadets and Nursing Cadets were presented with their proficiency certificates, gained during the past year. In the evening there was a grand muster of 150 men and ladies representing the Whakatane, Edgecumbe and Board Mills Divisions. After the presentation of certificates supper was served. It was gratifying to see a representative of the , newly-formed Matahina Division present. These members will be supplying a very necessary service to the bush areas, where a doctor is not available at short notice.
