Brief ’Quake A brief earthquake was felt at Whakatane at 11.29 a.m. yesterday. It only lasted a couple of seconds but creaked buildings. No damage was done.

Taneatua and district residents desirous of contributing to the United Nations Appeal for Children may leave their contributions at the office of Messrs Hamerton and Chappell at Taneatua between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. this week. A list of contributors with the amounts received will be forwarded to the Whakatane County Council for acknowledgment.
