Provided that he made restitution of the amount stolen David Edmund Porter, shop assistant, Awakeri, was convicted and released on probation for 12 months by Messrs L. H. Brown and C. H. Brebner, J’s. P., in the Whakatane Police Court on Wednesday. He was charged with stealing money and goods of a total value of £lB 10s 9d, the property of the Rangitaiki Plains Dairy Company, between May 6 and 12.
