Whakatane Traffic Offences

Several traffic offences were heard in the Whakatane Magistrate’s Court yesterday before Mr E. L. Walton, S.M. The following were convicted and .fined for operating vehicles at night without proper lighting. James Desmond Campbell fined IQs, costs 12s; Robert Brian Corcoran 10s, 10s; Brian Miller 30s, 12s; Kenneth Harold Sullivan 10s, 12s; Norman Evans 15s, 12s. The following were convicted and fined for over loading: Hall and Stewart Ltd. (Mr Buddie) £2, costs 10s; Timber Transport Ltd., Wairoa, £2, 10s. Alex Soutar was convicted and fined 10s, costs 10s, for operating a motor cycle without a current warrant of fitness while Daniel .Claud Donovan, Opotiki, was fined £l, costs 10s, for carrying on an unlicensed goods service.
