Large Attendance At Otakiri To Opening Of Archery Club
A large number of archers attended the opening day, in fine weather, of the Otakiri Archery Club on Sunday at Mr J. Busby’s property, Otakiri. The Field Captain, Mr J. Busby welcomed the Whakatahe Archery Club, v/ho turned out in full force and said that soon his Club hoped to be offering the Whakatane Club some strong opposition.
The president of the Whakatane Club, Mr R. Hunter, wished the Otakiri Club every success and promised every assistance and advice which was gratefully accepted by the new x club.
Mr Busby fired the first arrow into the target and declared the club officially open. Mrs A. Smith, Otakiri, was appointed secretary.
