“Boomps-A-Daisy” On The Skating Rink

There are few sports that give the spectators more fun than roll-, er skating when the floor, is full of learners. A race between experts, a demonstration of stunts, of dancing on rollers, can hold a crowd’s attention. There are few more thrilling games to watch then skate hockey. But for sheer hilarious 'enjoyment, watching beginners learning to skate takes a lot of beating. Over the holidays the Ohope rink has provided a lot of that sort of fun. For'every skater who has taken the floor there have been a dozen “mugs”—and they’ve had fun, too. What is 'truly amazing is the quantity of punishment the human seating upholstery can take without serious injury, and the contortions that can be performed quite unintentionally by people whose limbs and joints look quite normal.
