WEDDING
RENDEIX—MARX
A wedding of local interest which took place at the Presbyterian Church, Edgecumbe, was that -of Doreen Beverley, only daughter of Mr and Mrs • Alan Marx, Edgecumbe, and Keith, second son of the late Mr and Mrs A. G. Rendell, of Morrinsville. The Rev. J. H. Starnes officiated. The bride entered the .Church with her father and wore a dainty frock designed on Victorian lines, the fitting bodice being of gold and White, needlerun lace with an off-the-shoulder neckline. The full skirt was of white tulle. The hipline of the frock was draped in pannier effect, a frill outlining the skirt being caught into scollops with sprays of orange blossom. Her tulle veil was also held in place with sprays of orange blossom. She carried a semi-shower bouquet of cream roses and lillies of the valley. Miss Maureen Bunn attended as bridesmaid and Gaile Marx, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Miss Bunn wore a frock of blue embossed velvet and organdie -and the flower girl a primrose shade frock designed much on the same lines as the bridesmaid’s. Both wore a head-dress of yellow roses and carried posies of the same flowers. ~The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr G. Rendell, Te Puke.
As the bride left the church she was presented with a lucky horseshoe by a small nephew, Alan Marx. ■, s
After the ceremony Mr and Mrs Marx received the guests at a reception held in the grounds of their home, Otakiri Road, where Mr T. C. Johnston, Te Kuiti, carried out the duties of toastmaster. Mrs Marx wore a turquoise gown and hat to match with a 'shoulder spray of red roses. ' ;/
