Mr J. ; L. Burnett, Waimana, was , re-elected chairman of the Whakatane County Council for the N com-' ing year at yesterday's annual meeting. Cr D. C. Butler' was elected deputy-chairman. Mr B. Dodds, has resigned from M the position of assistant engineer to the Whakatane County Council and'.' has now joined the Hobson County I Council, ,Dargaville, in -a similar position., ' ■
Mr P. Wairua has ' resigned as draughtsman of the Whakatane,/ County Council and has accepted aSI position with the 'Opotiki County Council as engineer's assistant and noxious weeds inspector.
