Mr Sullivan At Country Meetings
In continuation of his election tour Mr Sullivan addressed a meeting of 30 electors at Manawahe yesterday afternbon. Mr D. J. Dennehy acted as chairman and at the conclusion of the candidate's address a motion of thanks was carried. In the evening, a further meet-, ing of 200 electors gathered at the Edgecumbe Theatre to hear Mr Sullivan. In concentrating most of his time on the National Party policy, the speaker received an attentive hearing, although punctuated occasionally with' interjection, the attendance was a record for Edgecumbe.
Mr J. Neilsen occupied' the chair and after questions were answered, a" motion of thanks to the speaker was moved by Mr lan Gow and carried by acclamation. One question was, What guarantee was there the National Party would carry out its policy? Mr Sullivan replied that the Parliamentary party has drafted the policy. They were all reliable men, whose sincerity could not be doubted, and the electors must judge accordingly.
