Candidate Talks To Crowd at Sports

At the Labour Sports Club’s meeting at Minginui on Saturday, the Labour candidate for Parliament, Mr Godfrey Santon, gave a brief address over the public address system to the crowd between 300 and 400. He presented the trophies. Competitors included a bus load of axemen and others from as far away as Mamaku.

Mr Santon pointed out that, although Minginui was at present in the backblocks, he considered the locality had a great future. When the Murupara project got iirider way it would be adjacent to one of the biggest towns-- in the Bay of Plenty.
